Car history: |
Originally I wanted the LS/7 engine option and (900)Tuxedo Black with Side Exhaust! The LS/7 engine and Side Exhaust were deleated for 1970 and the only way to get Tuxedo Black was to special order the car in factory primer-Code (SPC)! This was an additional $138.00-They clamed that you got 1st line fenders! I ordered the engine & aluminum heads from Ernie Callard at the Tonawanda Plant thru a good friend with GM's main parts depot in St. Louis. I ordered the N14 Side Mounted Exhaust and L/88 hood & air cleaner from Gene Jantzen Chevrolet, across the street from the Corvette Plant in St. Louis, Mo. in late 1970. I retired 2 years ago and decided to get the car running again after being stored (burried) in my garage over 35 plus years! Finally up and running again with Historic Plates, 51,517 miles on the clock! |
